Talked a good friend of mine into buying his first metal detector and on his second time out he digs these fired federal parrott shells,He got the back halves,both from one hole.
Probably every relic hunter in Paulding has swung over these shells,I know I have.Just didn't dig them because it was iron.But he didn't know relic hunters don't dig iron;)

I did find the bullets though

Cool finds. There was a battle that take place where my yard is now. One year Dad found a Yankee belt buckle laying on the ground where my uncle had turned up a garden spot.

They (my family) used to find a lot of buttons, buckles, grape shot, etc years ago, but not too much recently. Some folks even found a Confederate soldier not far from my house several years ago!

Nice finds. Man, I've got this brand new White XLT and still haven't learned how to use it correctly.:rolleyes:

Al-White's XLT has a huge learning curve,maybe we should go to minner's yard so you can learn some more:cool:
