But 92° outside is a bit hot! Maybe it'll cool off before I head out! ::;

Thanks Hunt4bone.

The evening went pretty well.

I forgot my watch, which made me feel naked from the start.

Long story short, I had 3 hens come by me at 20 yards, and fed on out into the field. They fed for about 30 minutes or so and I tried yelping to them to get them to come back towards me... about my third yelp, I had a gobbler cut me off.. .gobblelloooooooblle

I stopped, and cutt back at him....

Gobbbllllllllleeeeeeeelllllleeeeee He hit it again!

Cool, he's gobbling in the evening, which is a good thing.

The bad thing, is that the hens heard him as well and made B-line towards him...

Long story short, before it was over with I watched 2 strutters feed with 3 hens for about an hour and 1/2 and then watched them feed on off the field and into the far woodline.

I waited until dark and came home.

Lord willing, I'll be there in the morning!

I wish I would have had my camera. If I had of, I'd be sharing some sweet pictures!

In a hurry, left the watch, camera, and a water bottle...

Thank God I remembered my calls! :bounce:

If he gobbled this evening then he should rip it in the morning.

He probably gobbled a total of 10-12 times this evening.

Think I should use a decoy, or just hope the hens bring him back by in the morning if they reverse their evening route?

Well, he gobble his head off while on the limb.. probably gobbled nearly 20 times... First one cooked off at 7:06am. The last one ended at 7:40am.

That's all I heard from him.

I did hear two different birds as well... But they shut up as well once on the ground.

Had one gobble at 11:10am, but he was in the next time zone.
