Lake Russell WMA in North Ga.

Can anyone tell me if the Turkey hunting is any good there? Im new to area never hunted in the mountains.I was trying to find a place close to home.Also can anyone give me some places to start to find some birds up in the area? Thanks for any help given! Frank

It gets a ton of pressure. I have given up on it. It might be okay now that the season is winding down. I used to try and hunt it some during the first couple of weeks. Theres just too many people.
Theres some national forest around that might be a better place to start.

They have checked out 26 birds as of last week

They have been stocking the trout heavy,saw several turkey hunters both mornings last weekend.
