Put your 6.5 Swed. in a long action

I disagree regarding the 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser.

The 6.5 Swed. can use some pretty long bullets (140 grains or heavier) therefore, if it were me, I would want my 6.5 Swed. in a long action-not a short. That way I know I have enough room in the magazine box, and plenty of room in the action for proper feeding into the chamber. :shoot:

The 6.5 Swed. is a sweet, sweet cartridge with fabulous sectional densities, and ballistic coefficients. It isn't the fastest cartridge, but boy will it fly and penetrate. :fine:

I prefer the 257 Roberts in a Long action allowing me to seat the bullet out a little further. That's just me, though:flag: .

I'm not sure I'd put the lever gun cartridges in either category( 30-30,444,450).

I would also shoot most of the short actions in a long actions so you don't have to worry about AOL cartridge length.
I have a couple long action savage 110's that shoot .308,243,22-250 etc

Yes, good call. The 257 Roberts does better in a long action as well.
