Satellite DSL ???????

i might be moving out to where i can't get DSL or cable internet access and i'm wondering about my options.

ive got what is called directway,,,satelite internet....cost 103.00 a month....the tech's that help you over the phone are in bombay and you can not understand most of what they say..if it rains hard or comes up bad clouds..it will not work...and with directway your in a 15 month contract and it cost 300.00 to buy out of it...last but not least its not much faster than dial up...or mine isnt...my 15 months is up in july...ill be using dial up then...hope this helps you

thanks toby....i was afraid that i was gonna hear stories like yours....but was hoping to hear that someone had great experiences with it..

i reckon that'll just be the price to pay for gettin to live out in the country...i think i can handle that..

Get Starband. Do NOT get DirecWay.

The best thing is that the Starband tech support is in Augusta, GA (last I heard about a year ago; that is the last time I had to call them!) and - I believe - St. Louis, and they all speak fluent English.
