Gun experts I need some help

Need someone who knows remingtons. A friend of mine called me today asking about a model 4 remington 30-06. Said the gun was an older model in pristine condition, wood finish with a charles daly 3x9x40 scope. The guy is asking 450.00 for complete set up.

Is it worth it or not, what is the value of this setup?

remington model 4 was a rolling block single shot rifle. discontinued in the 30's I think. They only offered it in small calibers, .22 short and long, 25 stevens, and .32 short and long.

you sure its a model 4?

I usually sell only new guns, but keep books on hand for older guns I buy from occasion. According to my book: The Model Four came in 6mm, 243, 270, 280 (mfg 1984-87), 30-06, 308 (disc 1984) or 7mm Express (mfg 1981-83)

It has a 22" bbl, 4-shot det mag, monte carlo stock, and forend, detachable sights.

ahhh... is it weird that Remington has two totally different rifles... one is a "Model 4" and the other is a "Model Four."

Yup. But they called it a No. 4, which is a rolling block in 22 various lengths.

I just sold a Remington Model Four automatic .30-06 for my dad. It's like a fancy version of the Model 7400. Only worth about $400 for the regular Model Four. They get worth a lot more if they have all the scroll work.
