I took my boys and a buddy and his son fishing for the last river trip this year. I'm glad that Frances and Ivan didn't dump all that water on the rivers this past summer. Unlike fishing on the lakes... river fishing can be messed up over night from too much rain and then once the rivers go down they start letting water out 24 hours a day to get the lakes back down. Good time to go hunting!

We caught 20 stripers and about 6-7 green bass on 9/5 with the biggest 2 going 13 and 14# and the rest averaging 6-7#. Of course we had 2 break off from the trees which is about par.

Here's my 6 year old, Brian, with a striper he grunted and growned in.

Jimmy and Jordan with some nice fish. Actually, Jordan caught the larger fish but couldn't hold it up.

I can tell by the pic's it was a bad day to be fishin' for sure. Yep, you wasted a day on the water when ya could of been in the woods. Terrible shame it is. :(

I hope you have better luck next year, maybe the fishin' conditions want be too rough on ya. :bounce:

Great pic's sir. Congratulations on a mighty fine catch. Love reading and looking at your reports, especially when I am in them holding up one of them big boys. I'll be looking forward to next year, go ahead and save me a date.

Al, after finding not much hog sign at Pine Log over the weekend and with the warmer temps I kind of wish it was still fishing on the rivers. Though, in a couple of weeks I will be down in real hog territory and shouldn't have to work as hard for a hog compared to these mountain hogs.

Looking forward to taking you fishing again next year. Hopefully, we can get a least one or two of those big boys in the boat this time and keep those flying shad out of the boat. :bounce:
