Deer are only pass grazing on the plots. They are hitting the water oaks/pin oaks hard. Found a few white oak acorns. Deer sign everywhere in the hardwoods. Found rubs and scrapes.......that are most likely the youngsters doings.

Drove through BF Grant to check out their camping areas. Saw a 4.5' timber rattler' crossing the road next to three parked trucks. :eek: Found where the ranger planted a R O W in peas and the deer haven't touched them. :confused:

Todd.....

Same for us.....

We've got "BUNCHES" of White Oaks on the ground, but they ain't "browned out yet"......Still green.....

They are hittin' the "RED OAKS" pretty hard.......And, as for the plots, they are hittin' them marginally......

It's still early....

Hang tight..... :)

Saw four deer yesterday. Three of them were does, but one large deer I could not see its head. One feeding in the oaks, two were in the pines (a doe and yearling), and a young doe in a hickory flat with a food plot in it. Dad saw one come up the a crapapple tree next to the trailer while I was hunting. Found two fresh scrapes in the usual places under one of the big white oaks, and in the hickory flat. A lot of tracks headed to an oak flat that I am saving for gun season.

Zip, Nada, Nothing, Zero deer sign! :(

Bow hunted a creek crossing funnel Saturday Morning. Saw a large doe & older fawn (no spots but following mama real close) they where about 45 yards out though. Saw nothing that afternoon/evening hunt hunting a white oak bottom. :(

Sunday myself & one of the other bow hunters scouted 2 different creek bottom land areas. They're covered w/ white oaks and all are loaded w/ acorns but no deer tracks to be found. The only marks on the trees were from beavers.

We checked out some trails through the pines & found some heavily used trails & some deer scat that was relatively fresh. Still no rubs or scrapes.

Went to hang my trail camera near a fence line under a large white oak, where I found some deer hair on the barbed wire. After I was cheeking out the camera angle is when I found a little oak that was recently worn out from a buck. So we will see. ::;

SS,

Well I'm crossing my fingers & toes that it is a big boy! ::;

It'll will be a couple of weeks before I can get down there again unless I take a side trip on the way back from Myrtle Beach, SC Monday. Yeah thats it. :D I'll take an extra hour out of my trip back to pull the film & reset the camera.

I'll post what I get. It might just be a picture of an oak tree.

Last year(I think)Hancock was trying to get permits for a casino,never heard what happened.
Maybe E.R. knows

Nahhhh, they turned the casino place into a high dollar resort homes complex for equestrian and golf enthuasist.

Used to be called, The Pondarosa, sold, and now renamed Briar Rose.

They were trying to get a HUGH garbage dump into the county, that may be what you now are thinking about, but they have a LARGE opposition against "it".

Larry is right.....

Yeah, that "BRIAR ROSE" is right next to one of our leases.......

Man, are they spendin' some "MONEY"!!!!!!!!!! :speechles

Personally.....

I just don't get it.......I just don't see people comin' to Hancock County (between Sparta and White Plains) to buy a "resort" sorta home........

Maybe it's just me.....

But, if'n I was gonna buy a "resort home" and I had the "bucks"......I go on to Lake Oconee.....

Know what I mean???? ::huh:
