Bought one at Wally World to give it a try.
Had it out all last season and never got a night picture.
Brought it home and gave it a home trial. Flash goes off, but must not be bright enough to take the picture. All I get at night are dark photos.
Daytime it works great except for one thing. Sometime it goes off at first movement. But most of the time it took several seconds of jumping up and down and waving to get my picture taken.
Notified Wildview via email. They said if I had the receipt they would honor a warranty. I put the receipt and the box up somewhere, but who knows where or what happened to em.
Can't imagine why they need the receipt, shucks anybody can tell it one of their cameras. Unless it's to make sure the camera isn't over one year old. At anyrate, they should have offered to repair and charge if nothing else.
They've lost a customer...

Too bad about the camera. I believe we've had mixed reviews on that camera.

Hi "Son",
If you got it at Wal-mart, it's probably an STC-DGL1. Resolution is 0.3 and takes 4 c cells? Widview just throws returns in the garbage and sends you another camera. This model should have been pulled off the shelf 2 years ago and Wal-mart should be ashamed for still trying to sell them. This camera has been hammered by most trail camera sites as having a flash too weak, poor sensor range, and eats batteries like candy.
I know it's after the fact but the newer wildview Extreme Series are a little better as they have a better flash and external battery ports that accept the Stealthcam rechargeable pack. I just bought a 2-pack of extreme 2's at Bass pro for $99. I just put them out today so hopefully I can let ya'll know how they work. I tinker with trail camera's quite a bit so if i can help you please let me know, Robert

Yes, the flash on those is terrible. My uncle bought one to put on the feeder in his yard and was only getting black pictures at night. I stood in front of it a different distances and the flash is only good out to about 10-12 feet. The trigger time is slow, too.

Send it back to them and included a note that no receipt is enclosed because you received it as a present. They will probably send you a new one.

Doesn't WalMart take back about anything? I'd try a return to Wal Mart for a gift card first. But that's just me.

Ive got two that work great and have taken thousands of pics at feeders. However, ALOT of folks have had trouble with them. Everyone I know who has had a problem just returned them to Wal-mart...

I bought a leaf River camera aobut two years ago and it had worked fine until a bear got a hold of it. The bear must have opened it then came the rain. Needless to say my camera would not turn on anymore. I called leaf river and told them it had water damage and they said if I had the receipt and had owned it less than a year then they would replace it. Of course I had owned it about 13 months when this happened and I had no receipt anyway. I asked them if they could repair it cheaper than buying a new one. They told me to send it to them and would call me with a qoute. I sent the camera to them and a week later they had sent it back with no charge. The camera works perfect again. That was great customer service.

Maybe you could try doing the same with your camera. They may charge you but it would be better than buying a new one.

I bought a couple of those Wildview's for $49 and I too had the night flash problem. Worked great at first but then nothing but black photos. The other one would take a picture then like it got hung up or something would just take pics till the batteries went dead.

I saw them still on sale at Wally World the other day, might try exchanging them but would probably end up with the same problems.

Guess it is time to invest in a better trail cam.

If you are determined to keep using this one, buy another one, use the box and receipt to send the faulty one back, and then you'll have two.

I have heard alot of people have problems with these but my buddy has one and so far it has worked great. I was amazed at the picture quality on his.

If it was mine I'd probably just put my money and time towards a different brand.

The Wildview TGL1 only has a 15 foot flash. I have the TGL2M camera they work great. Fulton County Bucks taken last year. (look behind the first deer)

You need the 30 foot flash to take good pictures at night.

This camera has been hammered by most trail camera sites as having a flash too weak, poor sensor range, and eats batteries like candy

That describes my wildview exactly...
I didn't buy a more expensive camera cause of folks talking about having theirs stolen.
Thanks for all the replys ya'll..

Here are pics in the daylight and at night with mine. It does put out some nice photos in the day time after a little modification. But for $50 you can't complain too much.

I can pick-up some unopened Wildviews from Wally World for $25 a piece. Sounds like a hit or miss proposition. Are they worth $25?

Are they worth $25?

You get what you pay for --
I have a friend / fellow board member here who thought the same thing --he bought 3 of those junkpiles w / new batts .

after 2 weeks in the woods under feeder set ups
1 cam would not even power up
1 took 2-3 pics of does/ fawns and then all blackouts
1 cam had complete blackouts on it .
There is a reason they are cheap
