.410 pistol

I bought a single shot .410 pistol today and the more I think about it, its probably gonna kick like a mule. Does anybody else have one or ever shot one? I got it to keep when I walk in the woods for snakes and such. Im sure it will work for that but I wonder if it is going to jump out of my hands when I shoot it. :banginghe

I had the double barrel 410 deinger kicks about like and old40 cal. pistol they are fun and you can shoot 45 in the same gun :shoot: :shoot: :shoot:

I have a Thompson Center Contender that shoots the .410. I use the three inch mag. loads in it and the recoil isn't bad at all. If you're just using it for snakes, take a look at the 2.5 inch skeet loads (1/2 oz. of # 9 shot). Plenty of power/lead to kill snakes and the recoil will be reduced.

Its a new gun and but I got it at a pawn shop for 89.00. Its like a little derringer. I can barely get 3 fingers on the handle.

They were advertized as 410/45 cal, and if I remember correctly were selling at @ $100.

I don't get the laws on these pistols chambered for ga. insted of cal.? I thought there was an 18" barell Law on all ga. guns but not for cal. ?

The pistol is chambered for .45 Long Colt which will fire a .410 shell.

.410 is the bore size, and hand guns such as the Judge have rifled barrels, not a smooth bore.

The .410 does not kick much. No where near as bad as it does when you load a .45 LC in it.

its a legal pistol/handgun ..... if its like the ones my buddy sells they are made in tennesee and they now make the dbl. barrel derringer with an 10.5'' barrel and a forestock .......overall is about 13.5'' I think ......cool lil gun too ..... I am gonna get one as soon as I can afford it !!
