Finally got this thing finished. I picked up the hide at the rendezvous at Chehaw back in January in a trade with Choctawlb. I worried over the layout and design for quite awhile before cutting out the parts. The bag has a small pocket on the inside and a bound inner edge. The flap was left natural as you can see. Didn't have enough hide to make the strap, so I decided on a woven strap. The strap was purchased online from a lady who hand weaves these, and other articles.

The horn was purchased online and the strap with it was made by the same lady who made the bag strap.

The powder measure and short starter, I made also. Photos of them have appeared previously.

I'm happy with the way it all turned out.

That whole setup has a nice appeal to it. I really like the looks of that riflemans pouch, heck, I like the looks of all of the plunder. Nice work Gene, that`s something to be proud of!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I appreciate it.

BCW, I am not yet set to start brain tanning here at the house. I need to get my tools together and make me a fleshing beam, among other needed items.

I do appreciate your offer, though. If you've still got 'em when I get set up, we'll strike a bargain on them hides.

Nice work! I like those. On the short starter I see the rod, but did you put the dimple brass piece on to first push the ball before you use the rod? If so, where do you find them and what is the official term?
