I know the "Cartecay Kid" will recognize this plant!

Anyone else?

It kind of looks like one of my food plots from last year that has bloomed within the past month. I think it is rape.

Of course, you are correct Sir!

I was told by a very wise feller once that, "If a man let some of his Red Russian Kale go to seed, he'd have enough seed for the next years crop". It seems that he was indeed correct. Seed has been harvested ans tomorrow morning the butterflies will be deprived of their happy hunting grounds as Mama & I prepare that ground for crooked neck & zucchini's!

Thanks again, Mr. Holt, for the seed! We had many a pot of Kale this Fall & Winter!

How do you harvest it? I have the same thing in my plot. I was going to mow it at about 4 inches and hope for the best.

Robert,

The seeds are in pods and you simply pick them and shell them like peas. After looking at the pic again, I realized that you can't really see the pods very well.

Attached is what the same plot looked like Saturday evening!
