Broad River ATV is hands-down the best privately owned trail system I've ever ridden and possibly the best period. I took my son today and we stayed mainly on the main loop. It is like a wide gravel road with mud and a few small jumps. I couldn't check out most of the trails because my son's four wheeler is so small and I worry about him getting in over his head.
The few loops I did try were great. They were wide and slick. If you like speed, you'll love them. And I have to mention that I seen two porta-potties while on the trails! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_6.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm414BJUS) WOOHOO!!! Don't have to make like a bear and use the woods! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_108.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm414BJUS) They are just starting out, but have big plans. Including motocross track(s) and a kids trail/track.
If you want to try out your 4X4, they welcome it. They have dug out mud pits to test you and your quad. If you are like me and would rather not go through, they have "girly man" signs up before the mud pits pointing you around the hazard and these bypass trails are also wide and actual trails. Not just trails other riders have made.
I can't say enough about the hospitality of the owners/operators of this establishment. They will ask you for your opinions and care about what those opinions are. Unlike some other private trails, they also welcome quads and the people who ride them. They don't consider what someone rides to be representative of what kind of person they are. I was told by a friend that the owner of another, already established, private trail system told them they might as well close down now. Yeah, right. As long as they're open, I'll be riding there.
I hope others will try them out and support them by using their facility. Public lands may be much cheaper to ride, but ya can't depend solely on them. I like Locust Stake also, but they've been closed since the second I believe. One day these private trails may be our only option if we want to keep riding.
Thanks Aaron, and everyone else affiliated with Broad River ATV. Jasper and I had a great day and some serious father/son quality time.

today. I use to deer hunt down there when it was owned by the timber company. How much does it cost to ride? How many acres?

I'm not sure how many acres. I think someone said 3,000 +/-. There is a contact link from their website if you'd like to ask. They're still working on it and already have over 50 miles of trails according to someone with an odometer on his four wheeler.
Jim, I would have taken more pics, but the only time I could take time to pull the camera out was while he was stuck! Otherwise, he woulda left me. This was the first time I've taken him to ride a trail. Usually he just rides in yards and pastures. He slept nearly the whole way home! If you have younguns that ride, the main loop is well suited for them and two of the other trails I rode were OK even for a four year old. Like I said we didn't ride much off of the main trail. They are planning on a special "kids" trail and track later on. Hope some of ya'll try it and let me know if I misled you. I don't think I have.
By the way, the owner of that other trail place also said 'he didn't care if another four wheeler ever visited his place. Four wheeler riders are of a lower quality people than dirtbikers.' WHAT!? I used to ride a YZ250, guess I went downhill buying a Raptor. Chaps my hide when people act like they welcome your business to your face and disrespect you behind your back. But he won't get my money again and hasn't since I read a similar statement HE posted on another forum last year. Thats at least partly why I really want to see these other guys succeed.

I forgot to mention, they also ordered us pizza. No charge. That's my favorite pizza!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_12_14.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm414BJUS)I don't know how often they do that, but I was told they cooked out last weekend. I won't expect it, but it's a nice fringe benefit if they do it! I'm going back in two weeks if anyone wants to meet us down there. The more the merrier!

Sounds like a great place to go instead of the "other" place.
A question for ya; I've got a 9 year old with an XR70. Would these trails be too slick for him to enjoy riding there?? (I realize we've had lots of rain . . .) I'd like to take him but would want to make sure that he could have fun and not spend all his energy just trying to keep from sliding down.
Thanks!
Also, what's the scoop on Town Creek? Is it back in shape and ready? Anyone know?

According to the web site, Town Creek is still closed.
There were some real slick spots. Not most of it by no means. The main loop had a couple of places with slick mud three or four inches deep. What trails we rode had grass on much of them. With over six inches of rain in a week, they have plenty of mud.

He is helping them get it going. I spoke with him a good bit. He seems like a cool feller. I didn't see many jumps and the few on the main loop are small, nothing like on a MX track. I'm taking some back up with me next time (to help look after my son) so I can explore more of the trails. I'm used to riding Locust Stake. I haven't rode anywhere else with as many small jumps in the trails as are at Locust.
If you want to ride a great MX track, go to ThunderMax MX www.thundermax.net (http://www.thundermax.net/) I rode six laps (rolled nearly everything) and couldn't hardly move the next day.

kreed Great post and review, our club is going over to ride on the 18th of June. we hope to have a good weekend and turnout as well. it seems as the private sectors maybe realizing there is money to be made on tracks such as these. after the other guys attitude it really inspired Broad river to go ahead. we also have visited SUNNYSIDE ATV trail down at Wrens Ga. it is an awesome place . as well as rocky creek atv trail down in culloden. these are the places for the big mudder digs. and not the state trails. we have to preserve the state trails.
that is why they were closed this weekend with all the rain from the week and to much traffic really tears them up.

It's just a track. They have open practices. I can't remember the times, but it is on the website. If it doesn't sound like long at a time- go, and I promise you will be sore the next day. I think the times are like 3 to dark but they cut the lights on if at least 20 or 25 riders show up. It's nothing like DP, this is one tough track (for me anyway).

is it like doubles and stuff or some tabletops and fairly 4-wheeler friendly stuff...cause i don't even like the big track at dp

Not so four wheeler friendly to me. Mostly doubles, one triple, two table tops, lots of fun and lots of work!

It wouldn't be that bad for you. You are a lot quicker than me and have waaaay better suspension. I had a lot of fun there.

how much do they charge for "practice"?? $20???
very tight track, not really enough room out of the berms to get jumping speed.(well maybe for a 150 lb rider)it will definately make you sore.

We'll be back next Saturday if nothing happens. Goob (my brother) is supposed to come with us and hopefully my wife, too. If Goob backs out, how bout coming up here and helping me hogtie him. He's only about 6'3", maybe 260lbs. I could do it alone but thats tiring and I want to conserve energy for riding! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_16_4.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm414BJUS)Brad, it costs $15 to practice and I don't think you would be just barely clearing, but if you can't clear everything at DP, you probably wouldn't clear it. Ya should check it out once anyway.
