Let's use this thread to come up with ideas for something we can do for Mike and family in return for their generous hospitality.
Put your thinking caps on and let's be creative.

Just thinkin outloud....Do we need to have a "cleanup", "get ready" day, maybe the weekend before? Wouldn't expect everyone, but the ones of us that are close by.

The booth Mike was working at the Blast, (name escapes me, demostrates my lack of paying attention skills).
Something along the lines of support/contribution for them, or similar, in Mike's name of course. I defer to the Sultan.

Now that sounds like an excellent idea, take some of the burden off Mike and Jonathan  What do you think SOS?

I was thinking that too Muddy.
I'm only about 15 miutes away, I was going to volunteer to go the weekend before and cut wood for a community fire pit or something like that.
What I'm thinking of here is something personal we can do or give to him and his family. Something that says the "Woodyites" really appreciate what he's done.

Agree totally with the personal thing.
THe other, I was meaning that there was no need to put the burden on them for our fun.

Maybe some body could make him a woodburned Plaque.
Then he could read it with his hands.Pretty cheap and he could hang it in his office next to his deer.

We saw 5682 watermoccarattlerviperheads on our club work day so we can wait until after deer season to gather wood.

Jonathan I saw the plaque that was given to him at the Blast. When he showed it to me, you could see how proud he was to have been a part of the handicapped hunting event. It was not much and it was not expensive but the meaning behind it was worth more than money could buy. I will see what I can think up. Mike is a Special Guy. My Mother-In-Law does all kinds of wood burnings. I will see what I can come up with. Maybe something with a WAR emblem and all the people who was there last year and the ones who will be there participating next year. :banginghe I will need a 4x8 piece of plywood and it is gonna be hard to tote it around...:bounce:

Time to get this plaque together for Mike.
I can offer to get one made, (we produce tactile/ raised character signs at work).
Maybe a blurb about last year, and list as many folks as we can come up with that attended?

Just a thought,I like the woodburned Plaque or a raised character Plaque, but can you do one that is signed by everyone who comes...My wife's family signs a tablecloth at Christmas every year and they then sew the names,we could sign a plaque then burn the names in,that way everyone who attends gets to say thanks to Mike and family...aslo I would use the woods logo and GON if possible along witht the WAR II emblem
