Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield

We went hiking there and it was great. They have some Civil War history, great hiking trails (not real tough). Some really nice views from lookout points. From one spot you can see the whole atlanta skyline (when the smog isnt too bad:bounce:)

try parking on Burnt Hickory and crossing over the rd to hike up Pidgeon Hill, a vigorous hike to it's summit, then about a 300 yd hike through a boulder field then go up the back of little Kennesaw to it's top(there are two distinct peaks)and if time permits hike down into the deep canyon towards big Kennesaw then up big Kennesaw to the paved rd, which is quite aways from the top, then turn around and hike back to return to the car. This trail will be more your speed.

The boulder field is really a beautiful place and worth the hike.
