My wife, 5 and 8 year old and I want to go camping now that it is cooling off.
Whats a good place to go for kids this age? We have a huge 20# tent and a 5 year old, so it can't be to far of a hike to the site, but we would like to do some "exploring" and fishing on some creeks.
Thanks!

You want to go hiking or car camping? If the latter I would suggest lake conasauga...great fishing...near jacks river...very secluded and some good hiking trails around.

Moccasion Creek at Lake Burton. Kids and over 65 only fishing in the park, Wildcat Creek real close, Upper Talluah a short drive away, also a playground at Moccasion Creek. trout hatchery next door with more kids fishing....
The usual, Helen,Dillard, etc not too far away.
And don't forget 'The Best Biscuits in Batesville just minutes away!

Vogel State Park would be good for the kids. Hiking, beach, swimming, fishing and paddle boats to wear 'em out so they'll sleep good!

Victoria Bryant state park is great for kids, they have a fishing pond, hiking trails, a creek to play in, several play grounds and a tractor ride in the evening. Some of the tent sites are covered pavilions, lots of room with electric, water and fire rings

of course you can always go to www.gastateparks.org and find some,
I also like to use this one, I saved it on favs.page like this, so you will have to go there then navigate for your needs...
hope this helps...

Good luck finding a camping site available in any of the mountain parks if you want to go in Oct. on a weekend. Lots available in flatland parks otherwise.
