I am new to Northern Georgia, and ya'll don't fish like we do back home in South Florida. I have a 9wt rod that I used for largemouth bass and butterfly peacock bass. What is there up here that I can use this rod to catch, without overpowering the fish too easily? I live in Dawsonville. The only place I've found that had any fish of good size was War Hill Park. I caught 3 smaller bass on light spinning tackle. I have no idea what flies to use, nor where to find big trout. Any one have any ideas? Thanks,
Larry

If you are use to Peacock and Largemouth, I would say hit
Lake Lanier for some Striper...Closes thing I know of that

Hit the Etowha River below Lake Allatoona for some major strippers. And the nine weight will get all it can handle. My buudy Robert fishes it with Redfins and Rapalas, but I think any big shiny bass or tarpon type foy would be a good match. The Lake also has some big stripper as well. And Corey is right also, Lanier has some studs in it too! Contact the Fly Box in Marietta, or the Fish Hawk in Atlanta, the have some regulars that go in there that hit both places.
