What is your opinon/experience with this gun? Everything i read about it is A++++ and ballisitics show it to be the fatest shooting handgun out there. Just wanted yalls input?

It is very fast round out of a revolver.
It is also a punisher. The recoil is stout to say the least. Because of that it is difficult for most people to shoot effectively. It is a good round, but honestly, you can get the same (or better) performance shooting a bottlenecked cartridge out of a T/C.

I had one and found the recoil to be a little more than a hot 44 load, but the ammo is very expensive. I've got a bunch of once fired shells if you are interested in reloading for it.

i love mine, i don't think the recoil is that bad personally because of the compensator and it will drop anything in its tracks! the rounds are not cheap, just a good excuse to get into reloading

I've owned one for 3 yrs and I love it. The good thing is it will shoot the .460, .454 casull, and the .45 long colt which makes it very versatile. Don't shoot it without ear protection, trust me! I shot mine iron sights at 175 yards and was 5" above bullseye on a prop. I use mine to shoot big hogs close range and they don't take another step. PS I have my FFL license and can order you that gun and ammo and probably save you some $ because I don't have a store with overhead.

I have the 500 and love it. Same frame. It carries well in a kodiak style holster and it will drop anything. Bullets are about 3.50 ea so you have an incentive to make every shot count LOL

I love mine, such a variety of loads...by the way, the .454 Casull's hurt to shoot. I have the 5" barrel model, scoped and all. It's just a great all around fun gun to shoot. Mine puts about a 4' fireball the engulfs you when shooting. I don't shoot it indoors anymore, it feels like getting punched in the nose with heavier loads...what a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been thinking about one but 3.50 per round makes me wonder if it'll kill any deader than the 44 mag or 45 Colt???? No doubt that reloading is the way to go with this gun

I also have this pistol and love every last ounce of it. What other hand gun can you kill deer ,hogs ,bear even brown or grizzly for that matter. Just watched a guy in africa take down a cape buffalo with the xvr!! You are spending around a grand on a pistol dont let the cost of ammo turn you away. you definitly get all the bang for your buck and a whole lot more!!!!!!!!!

http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=339595&t=11082005 --- these are under $28 for 20 and enough for deer and black bear--- the higher priced stuff is needed for bigger game IMO

I got to shoot one as a demo and I didn't think recoil was bad, but muzzle blast was. This one had the long barrel, maybe 8 or 10"?? I found it very front heavy and it seemed kind of impractical due to its size. VERY accurate at close range. Being that it was a .460 and designed to shoot flat I took advantage of the superior ballistics by really wringing it out... at 10 yards. Ha ha.
