Has anyone ever found a point in the ocean??? I was down in PCB and digging in the sand under water with my little 4 yr old Boy and I pull up a bunch of shells and there it was a point. I took it ashore and everyone was like what the heck.. Just wondering if anyone else had found something in the ocean before.. I was thinking of calling the Florida History Society or something like that and ask them.. I'll get a pic of it soon..

Yep, more points are found out there than most folks realize. Some really nice ones too. I`d like to see a pic of it.

I know this may sound stupid but for someone thats never found a point or really looked for one in his life and heck I was a boy scout too. But how abouts did they get there in the ocean??? Run off from rivers??

Water levels in the oceans have fluctuated a good bit over the eons. When it was low, huntin` was good along the lower shoreline. All kinds of artifacts have been found out there.

I may be wrong but seems like I read once that during the last ice age the coast line of Fla was several miles father out than it is now

awhile back I found some stuff on the net about FSU doing research out in the gulf and finding artifacts deeper than 30 feet along what used to be the aucilla river .Pretty neat when you realize global warming has been going on for the last 12000 years and the water has risen that much and where will it be in another 1000 years.bet theres some nice paleo stuff out there.

They find stuff dredged up several miles offshore in the gulf. PCB used to be several miles inland thousands of years ago. Iv'e seen points from the ocean with barnacles on them.

back in the late 70's, they dredged sand from offshore onto the beach at Jacksonville Beach. If you stood down near the waters edge while they were pumping through that 3 foot pipe...you could find tons of large pre-historic sharks teeth and other oddities that were sucked up and pumped ashore. It was really quite a sight...and quite the treasure throve!
