I need to catch some pigeons to train my lab with. I have found several places to catch them, and would like some input on the best way to keep em. Some of what I catch I would like to keep alive and clip their wings so my lab could chase them, and had thought of building a small cage of wire and 2x4s or 1x4s. I would also prefer to make the cage somewhat portable. Am I on the right track? I am also going to contact the DNR to make sure catching them is legal (there is no closed season on them so I don't think it matters). I figure a few with clipped wings for her to chase and then some dead birds for her to retrieve ought to do the trick. She will already try to break the lead to catch robins and such when she sees them in the yard. Thanks for any suggestions.
