Performance Center vs. 8 Point

Had an interesting morning with this being one of 3 bucks chasing a doe past my stand. This one put on a great show grunting as he came in. I didn't range the shot after the fact but it was somewhere around 50 yds. I had to shoot offhand as he was he was at my three o'clock. The 250 grain platinum tip slug entered and exited leaving plenty of blood to follow. He is no where near my largest buck but he is my first handgun buck.

Thanks guys. By the way that is the entrance wound in the last pic. Talk about nasty, those Platinum tips get ugly quick. I have retrieved several I have fired and they open up with razor sharp petals on them and hold together completely.

I am shooting Buffalo Bore 255 grain Heavy Magnum Keith LSWCs from my 629 this year. My little one and I will be sitting on the salad bar in SC tomorrow afternoon. I hope we let the 629 bark.
