rut in talbot

I was at our club in Talbot Saturday 10/2 and the Bucks were already making scrapes everywhere and breaking the branches above the scrape. Has anyione else seen this activity yet and does this mean the rut will probably be early this year

I doubt it means it will be early.. That is usual activity on our Talbot lease for this time of year..

I hunt Talbot as well. I did not make it down to bow or muzzleloader hunt. I am going this weekend. I agree w/ Browning on the rut dates. Do any of you make food plots? If so, what grows in the sand?

We plant 8 - 10 plots on our lease, using pennington mix on some and bio-logic on others.. As far as sandy soils, Im not sure what to plant. I would post that question in the food plot forum, Im sure they could help you out..
