Here's a couple pics of my first bear ever. Hunted since Monday (4 days) and this was the first treed one. Killed it with my Pro Hunter 7mm-08, 1 shot to the head at about 20 yds. Bear had some ground shrinkage, weighed 152 lbs.
Will be making it a rug and eating good for awhile.

Congrats! Nice looking bear!
Guess you won't be keeping the skull for a desk ornament, huh?

No the skull is not saveable, but the dogs are safe. That thing buckled immediately and dropped like a sack of taters. When it came out of the first tree the dogs surrounded it and it took about 1/4 of one dogs ear off.

nothing wrong with that bear! Bigger than some I seen come out of the woods in PA and NY this year. Good for you, be happy and proud. :)

Thanks guys, I am very happy and proud. Dog hunting in the mountains of Va. is tough and I thanked the Lord for the kill, but had to ask for strength while we were toting it out. I really liked my T/C before, but I REALLY LIKE IT NOW.
