Warwoman WMA

Has anyone here ever hunted on Warwoman? IF not you shoulg go, I have been the last couple years and man talk about a wonderful place to hunt. Its been buck only the last couple of years becuase of the rough winter up north a while back and a bad acorn crop and it killed quite a few fawns. A buddy of mine shot an absolute monster for a mountain deer up there, it weighed 158 lbs dress and was aged at 5.5 years old. Big thick 8pt and the rangers were all giddy like little girls when we checked it in. The best thing about these December hunts is its right in the middle of the rut in Rabun county. Check it out it might be worth your while, everyone sees deer when we go. Oh yeah, better be in shape cause you will do some walking and its straight up^^^^^^^^^! :D

You aren't kidding. My Dad and I went on a hunt there several years ago and it was beautiful. It was an antlerless only hunt and was snowing. I walked up on a pretty 8 pointer, about 15 yards or so. The snow was dusting his neck and back, just unbelievable. It was like he knew that he was safe that weekend as he slowly walked away. But your'e right Warwoman is a neat place and one that most hunters overlook. The terrain is rough, and it is all up or down. Kinda like my Wyoming trip two years ago. All in all a great experience and one I had about forgotten! I need to get back up there.
