We headed down to the river this morning for a nice little 6 hour float trip. Saw a good number of ducks but not what we were expecting. The mallards were a good surprise however. We ended up knocking down 5 for the morning...the most mallards we have ever brought back from the river. The woodies have gotten smart. As soon as the boat comes within view they are gone and never fly back over like the not so bright hoodies.
All in all a successful trip....the river definitely holds birds when that temperature falls. The deer sightings also make for a memorable experience as well.
