I have a .500 S&W revolver and it is a handful to shoot but it is "manageable". I really like the cartridge so I ordered a 12" stainless, fluted, full-bull 500 S&W Encore barrel with a removable Holland QD brake from Match Grade Machine just last week. My only advice is "Go for it"! :biggrin2:

that 460 will shoot nice, the only loads I have shot out of the 500 that had any amount of noticeable recoil more than my Ruger SRH 454 was the hardcast 720 grain hot loads I had, the 460 is compensated and heavy and will be fun to shoot. Go for it.

i got a .460 for sale on here at a real good price....nearly like new too. as for the recoil, because it is posrted it is less than shooting a .454. it really isn't all that bad in my book as long as you can afford the ammo!
