what is the best size boat for getting started into bow fishing with just two people. Like how small of a boat should you go with.

Use what ever ya got, I've seen people bowfishing out of a canoe. Bowfishing is kind of like building a rat rod to me.
I was so hooked on the sport I did what ever I had to, to get out there and shoot fish. then as time has passed I started puting togethor what I could afford.

This sport is so addicting I would strap two pieces of styrafoam to each foot and use a head lamp if I had to.:bounce:

If ya ever get over towards west point lake give me a hollar and I'll take ya out on my boat. It's nothing to write home to mom about, but it gets the job done.

How long does it usually take someone to get used to aiming on the fish. I hear you have to aim under them. And is it like deer hunting as far as do you use a pep and a sight or just the tip of the arrow.

I dont know anybody that uses a peap and sight. I guess you could say i look down the arrow or tip when i shoot sometimes. But I think it is more instictive shooting than anything. I am by no means the best but i have gotten better at shooting fish the more and more i have shot. You do have to shoot low. Aim low and when you think that is low enought Aim even lower. It wont feel right to start with because you are aiming so low but you will get used to it in time.

I made targets out of 20oz bottles to practice,,,,,,,,,I put spray foam in the bottles and then tied bricks to the bottle,,,,,,,,,,,then tied another line to pull the target back in. With this set up you can submerge the bottles and they will not fall all the way to the bottom.

I would not get anything shorter than 16ft, also a wider boat is better.
