I have heard of people grinding them up for cat food...I have also heard of people putting them in fields and plowing them under for fertilizer....

I've wondered the same thing myself. I've heard some folks like to eat carp and gar. I cant imagine either are great to eat, but i've never tried it.

Gar are actually very good to eat and shame to waste them, pure white, boneless backstraps, just a pain to get to, but definitely worth it. Now carp on the other hand, just never could deal with the taste or the bones, but they make some great fertilizer and do wonders on a food plot or dove field, or planted beside your tomato plants. Suckers are in high demand in certain areas and most people will take them if you offer. Buffalo are a widely consumed commercial fish in the Mid-west and can be good to eat, just have not figured out how to cook them properly! Mark
