Looking forward to it. I am hunting in Dooly County. Have been seeing a good bit of hens over the last few weeks. Season looks promising. Im glad I didnt get placed with WoodnWater..now I wont feel bad about not inviting him out :)

haha, i wouldn't feel bad now either. I will be hunting around Bulloch County mostly, also will be doing a little hunting in Coweta county. I am headed to SC Wed to hunt thurs, fri, and Sat morning. Hopefully I can save one for that saturday when the challenge starts! Good luck to you opening weekend

should we post pics on this thread when we kill a bird and vote on putting it in the challenge since there is a 7 day time limit being we can only enter 12? just hoping we can get 12 but wanting to get the biggest 12 possible, im not goig to shoot jakes so hopefully we can get 12 grown gobblers. Unfortunately, didn't have much luck in SC, could have take a couple jakes, but passed waiting on a gobbler. They all seemed to be henned up tho and shut up when they hit the ground, will be headed out in the morning to hopefully get one in GA. How was everyone elses opening morning?

null and void on Tuesday. Got a line on a good one at one of my farms I can hunt on but the weather shut that one down on Wednesday. So once the monsoons clear Im back at it.

i'll be back in the woods tomorrow morning till the end of the weekend. The weather isn't looking pretty, but i'm gonna tough it out in the rain anyhow, gonna be hunting WMA's so maybe the weather will keep others @ home and I can get on a bird.

Good job bonaireboy! I've had some bad luck so far! Been on 5 different gobblers and no luck. Had a bobcat come in and run one off and the others have been with hens and won't come within range

well, the judges, whom ever they are, have ruled my pictures not valid. I think its a bunch of, well you know. Also, according to Nicodemus, it is a secret who the judges are. So even thought I have asked for a converstation with one, I was told no.....a bunch of, well you know.

that sux. :huh: I guess its cause you didn't have the pics exactly as they wanted em, said that first pic had to have you the turkey and paper or phone all visible, and second pic had to have the paper or phone up close. Didn't see one of you with turkey, and phone or paper, sucks but I guess thats why.

It ain't lookin good boys. They are questioning the pics on mine too. I couldn't figure out how to get me , the turkey , and the newspaper in the same pic and still be able to read the date on the paper.Didn't think the facemask would be an issue being as I've never posted my face on the forum before, only my daughter's.The next pic will have my face and maybe then they can see its the same person.I put alotta sweat into that bird:huh:

Just for future reference, the date doesn't have to be clear in the paper pic with you and the bird..Check out how most everyone else is submitting their birds...Thats what the follow up pic is for to get a date verification....Good luck the rest of the season.

I've been trying out at Redlands WMA,but have'nt been able to get a shot off yet.Monday,I got access to 600 acres on the Ocmulgee.I'm having to let it dry out some before I can get back there.:bangingheBut mud or not,I'm going after them tomorrow.Hopefully nobodys been chasing them.:fine:

Made it through the mud........so did 4-5 other guys.Birds gobbled for a couple of hours,but I couldn't get in front of them.Saw a neat looking smoke colored hen.She saw me too.

well i got up this am and went out in the hurricane force winds and rain. No gobbles! only called in 4 hens and 5 jakes.... all my spots with gobblers are flooded bigtime from all the rain. going to a new spot in the morning to try and find another one. good luck guys. we gotta get on the board!

Been hunting public land, and I aint even heard a gobble since I left SC, or seen a bird for that matter, its been pathetic and frustrating to say the least! I aint givin up, will be back after them this weekend hopefully...

The rains have hurt my season.I can't get back to our proprty if it's to wet.Then Fri. they closed the main road into the area,guessing because of the coming rain.When it dries out I'll check an alternative route back to our property.
