I am from Tampa. I will be hunting the first two weeks on my lease in Perry Florida. I will be hunting on my lease in TAlbot GA. the entire week leading up to easter. I went scouting this weekend and saw two big gobblers and a jake. They are not gobbling on our property yet but hopefully they will be ready to play the game next weekend. Hope we all have a very successful turkey season.

sorry guys - my bird got denied because of pic requirements! hopefully my next 2 will be longbeards - heard plenty of them this weekend but they all shut up after flydown and we could not do anything with them - going to Elbert or Banks this Saturday and then back down South to Macon Co. after that - good luck everyone!

Congrats on the kill. What did they say about the pics? I called in nothing but hens and jakes Saturday, I sat up on one but got to darn close and he flew down the other way. Then this morning I called in a nice tom for a friend but he only came into about 60 yards and then all of the sudden went out of the field. Hope to get back on them Wed. evening.

In my excitement I forgot to have my phone in the same pic with me and the bird all at the same time - did not realize it until after the 1 hour editing grace period - oh well - lesson learned the hard way! good luck this week!

Guys I cannot think of anything for a name. So has anyone had any luck. I saw 7 this evening and one was almost solid white. Me and my hunting partner had them fired up right before the went to sleep. The only catch is they were not where we can hunt them. He said he might could get permisson if so in the morning will be one for the books.. Other than that I can do is call in Jakes and hens.

Great Kill! The weather and work might keep me home this weekend as well. I am spending an entire week between my Fl and Ga properties starting next weekend so it won't hurt so much to take the weekend off. Might get the itch and go anyways.........

Congrats BCB - another good bird
I know how you feel GH - just got back and had multiple birds on roost the past 2 mornings and they all went the opposite direction. hope I get them figured out soon - bad thing is they are not consisitent with where they are roosting nor where they are headed!

Well I finally connected. I saw some hens and looked around hoping he would be behind them, well he was. I was able to get in between him and the hens and made some clucks and purrs and got him to come into only 8 yards when I pulled the trigger. Man that 835 with 3.5 Nitro Heavy's took his head off. I had to do some doctoring just to get a presentable pic. Well maybe the next 2 will come now.

Guys, I struck out! Hunted Sat, Sun, and Monday and only heard a couple birds gobble one time a piece. Tried everything to make it happen but the birds and the awful weather won this time. I'll be back at it in a couple of days when the wind comes down below 20 knots. Congrats on the kills to all of you.

I got a jake yesterday morning. I saw the big boy that morning as well, 2 weeks left to go get him. I have been told to mount my Jake fan on a B moble and I will get the big boy to come running. I think it will be worth the investment to try that strategy. Will report the results as soon as they happen.

had godzilla as close as 60 yards on the new piece of dirt I was at Saturday - the hens that we called in eventually gave into him and took him the other way - best hunt I have ever had - he gobbled from 6:50 till 9:45 when they left - I will be back after them in Macon Co this weekend. Good luck everyone.

went this am and only heard 1 gobble from the roost on some adjacent property - it was 39 degrees and that may have had them tight lipped - set up on a green field and had 6 jakes come in at abouy 9 and try and pick a fight with B-Mobile. Hope to get back out mid week.
