South Dakota bound

with my party of eight for three days of pheasant hunting. We leave next Wednesday and I can't wait.

We've hunted this place for the past three years (near Gann Valley, SD) and have limited out every day. The birds are all wild and the numbers are unbelievable.

Well, we made it to South Dakota and back. While we had a good hunt, it wasn't one of the "barn burners" that we had for the past three years. The area of South Dakota that we hunted (Gann Valley) received a lot of rain and, as a result, the rancher had not been able to combine any of his milo and corn. The fields were huge and required several passes to cover. When the field is too big, the birds run rather than flush. Day two was rain. Day three was still damp from the rain the night before. We still saw a lot of birds and had a great time.

I have some pics to post but am having trouble getting the size right.
