I had a really good afternoon in the deer woods...Other then the guys that wern't supposed to be on our roads riding up and down...First I saw a big doe feeding on red oak acorns....About 20 minuts later I hear a deer grunt in the clearcut....The clearcut is thick with very few openings...I look up to see a pretty good buck run through one....I then see a doe bolting in and out of the pines...He runs her through as another doe pops out listening to them....I stop him with a whistle and check out the headgear.....Nice 2 1/2 yo 8 pointer...Needs one more year to be a shooter in my book...Hopefully he will live or one of the youth hunters on my club will get him....Im sure he would make their year and I would be happy for them.. ...I hope I have several more days like this...Even though i didnt pull the trigger it still was a lot of fun....
