was out in the canoe on April 19 and saw a hen woody with five or six pretty good size chicks, they got away quick into the bullrushes. Had several other hens fly out of boxes and lure me away with "broken wings"We raise around 300 but when the oak mast falls in the nearby creeks and beaverponds they mostly vanish. Cool to go out in September and watch em flying around in big old groups about a hour before sunset.
