Digital Antenna

I have a place outside of Statesboro (Oliver) and I can't get anymore than 1 or 2 channels with the digital converter box and digital antenna. I need an outside antenna for the "blue zone" according to antennaweb. Does anyone have or had the same problem? If so how did you fix it and where did you buy the antenna? Inside antennas will not work, even the powered ones, I've tried all of them. :banginghe

Thx

According to antennaweb.org, I'm also in the blue zone supposedly requiring a medium sized amplified antenna even though right now for Analog TV I'm using a small, inside, passive antenna on my 22 year old Sony TV with great viewing performance & a small, inside, amplified antenna on my 2 or 3 year old larger, newer Sony TV with good reception but not as good as my old TV.

Unfortunately, I think free over-the-air Digital TV is still NOT ready for prime time yet with it's EXTREMELY, SEVERE, POOR performance in windy or stormy weather even though it looks incredibly good when it works.

Like you, I've tried & tested lots & lots of antennas with mostly dissatisfaction & had to return them. One antenna that's close to working decently for me but I still have problems in windy & stormy weather, is a new RCA ANT806 Indoor/Outdoor Amplified TV Antenna for just under $69 at Walmart, which is 48-inches long & about 4-5-inches wide.

If I do not stay with this new 4-foot long RCA antenna, looks like Digital TV is going to force me into an expensive, inconvenient, large or extra-large outside antenna. Even though I'm only 25 miles from the Atlanta OTA TV transmission towers, it looks like I'm going to be forced to buy a 100+ mile amplified antenna if I'm going to get decent, reasonable, respectable Digital TV reception.

From what I've found from a couple GON forum threads with antenna web links, I learned Channel Master has been in business since 1949 or 60 years, and Winegard has been around for 50 years, so I know they have reputable antennas. The great product tables with antenna types & distance features really help in selecting what I need.
