I live in Stone Mountain about 100 yard outside Clarkston city limit. Last night around 10 I heard what sounded like a cat scratching a woman's eyes out. Freaky!!!! Went out back with a flashlight and..... I started shinin' where I was hearing the noise and that's when I saw him. He was staring right back at me. The crazy thing is that he crossed the creek and was coming towards me, well at twenty yards I fired a couple of shots from the ol' 22 at him and he took off. Anyway, I called Dekalb Co Animal control this morning and they told me that they don't deal with wildlife and gave me a number to call. I explained to the guy what happened and asked him to bring some traps over. He told me that traps make it worse! He said that once trapped and removed the pack with reproduce more quickly to fill the gap and that I should just learn to co-exsist with the coyote. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, it's becoming way too much of a problem everywhere. Most have given up on finding a solution to it.
Killed one here in Dacula with a .22........He was trying to eat my wife's dog......Haven't seen any since.

I use to live in Stone mtn. close to the high school. I would shoot him at night. Gunfire at night is not uncommon in your area. You could bait him with some food. Raw meat or chicken livers.

True.....about the gunfire. I here gun shots all the time at night. Guess it wouldn't really matter. So what, just put out some livers and wait?

Trust me, I won't cast the first stone at you. Us fellers that live in subdivisions and such have to do what we have to do on the real quiet like...............

Yep, pour them on the ground in an area that would be safe to fire if you decide. Years ago I fired a 22 derringer in the backyard of a big subdivision off Central and Goldsmith from the deck down at the ground, and nothing was said. Make sure nothing is in the background or you are aiming down.
My cousin shot his dobberman in the head after it attacked a family member and he lived close to Norman and E. Ponce close to Clarkston P.D. station and no one came or called PD.

You're preachin' to the choir about moving striper slug!! When the sun goes down, you hear all kinds of gun fire over in several apt complex's on Memorial Dr (you know the ones that are always catchin' on fire) Breakin's on a weekly basis by Somali gangs. If I catch them or that yote, I will unload on em

i lived on central dr. as a youte. after school a few of us would load our shotguns and head up the street to the christmas tree farm(cedars). about sundown the doves would come in to roost, what a fantastic dove shoot.

It works wonders use 4 o or 5 o hooks you can get em at Bass Pro use heavy string. Bait your hooks with pork or beef fat or some old meat. You gotta hang em about head high or the dogs in the neighborhood will get it and you will be in trouble. Gotta be ready to move quick to because when you catch em they are loud...You don't want the neighbors to hear what they think is a dog suffering.

in your Stn. Mtn. neighborhood a dog suffering will attract attention, but you can have gun shots and they don't blink an eye.::ke:

I live in downtown Buford. I saw the same yote twice in a week a few years back. I tried to run over him the first time, but he stepped out of the street at the last second. He got my neighbor's cat. I talked to an LEO and was advised to keep the .22 beside the front door, fire one well-placed shot in a safe direction, then close the door. I think someone else beat me to it though, because about 2 nights after I last saw him, I heard 2 shotgun blasts from up the street.
