Im going to try to make one does anyone know what size parachute cord should i use? I would be greatful if anyone could let me know.

yup, standard 550 7-strand

There is true mil-spec 550 cord and then there is cord that is "like" 550 cord. The package should say if it is true 550 cord, but in reality I guess it doesnt matter if you like what you are using.

I saw some really neat looking cord recently in a variety of colors at a army/navy surplus here locally. It wasn't mil-spec but it would make some really nice, pretty lanyards!
