Ok, sounds weird I know. Well skinning the squirrel didn't take very long at all. Then I gutted the squirrel. Now I have it in the freezer. When its time to cook the squirrel do I need to boil it first before I fry it? Have I missed a step? By the way,the squirrel did not have wolves or ticks or fleas. Killed it with a 17 mach 2 through the head, instant death.

When you want to cook it just thaw it out and cut the arms and legs off. Boil until tender then take the arms and legs and patter and fry. Take the remainder and put back in the pot of boiled water, add salt and pepper, rice and onion soup mix. Now you will have squirrel and rice along with your fried squirrel.

Inca, leave it froze, till you get several more. Then, cook em all at the same time. Squirrels are good eatin`, and one will just make you mad. :D

Thanks for the tips! So you can only fry the legs and the arms? Can you grill the rest at all, like a b-b-q? I don't like boiled meat that much. This is my 1st squirrel obviously. Can you eat the meat off the rest of the squirrel (other then arms and legs) like a chicken off the grill? My wife and mother are disgusted with me. They tell me that I am reverting back into a cave man.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
Yes you can also fry the back.
If it was a young squack grill the whole thing and finish off with your favorite BBQ. Don't over cook it.

Power boil them for a bit and then fry it up. Cut into pieces before you boil em, we always do it when we skin them. After you boil them, use the water you boiled them in to make your gravy. Absolutely the best breakfast ever imo.

I agree on the get more than one. I don't cook till i have 5. cut into pieces and put small amount of oil in pan .. brown both sides lightly,, then add water, or beer, or 7up, or mountain dew.. turn the heat down a little and cook till tender. ( smother fried) keep checking the liquid so you don't run out..mashed taters, green beans, gravy and lots of pepper. i will confess to not using beer to often cause it's hard to get one from my wife

Actually, I forgot to put that little winking smiley face after the sentence. My father always told me how good they tasted when he was young. He said he would go out all the time hunting them when he was younger, 1950s and 60s, and how his mother would make dumplings with them. Pretty much some of the best meals he's had were those.

Hope that doesn't happen to me. My mother got sick like that one time after eating a pizza, she will not touch another one.

I cut mine into 6 pieces ( the 4 legs and torso in 2) ....
when I clean a squirrel I use wire cutters or dikes too cut off the feet and then the ribs as well before I cut it up an put it into a gallon jug an fill it with enough water too cover and then add a lil salt ....... then I can add more water when I add more squirrel an so forth tiil it gets filled enough too have a meal ..... and then when thawed out the pieces are ready too cook ......
when thawed I roll them in flour and brown on each side then turn the heat down and cover them an cook them slow till tender ........adding a lil salt and pepper while cooking ....... remove when done and make gravy and have my rice an bisquits already done .....
then its time too chow down on some serious vittles and enjoy too the fullest !!!
