Well im hunting some woods right here by the house its nothing but a travel route...there are plenty of deer here and I figured I could catch one coming through but the other night I was coming home late and on the other side of the woods stood 10 deer (atleast) including atleast one real nice buck. Then tonight I had to get somthing out of the truck about 11:30 and there were two deer in front of the house across the street. Ive been hunting morning and afternoon and I have only seen two does one morning real early. What do I do here? Will my situation get better as the weather starts to cool off? Is there any way to better my chances now in early season? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As the daylight gets shorter, you might have more problems until the food source changes. Once the food source changes, they will likely change their patterns as well. I'd put out a camera to find out exactly when they travel through the area. You can eliminate which areas not to hunt with the camera. Once the rut starts, you might get him on a travel corridor.

Yep, I believe deer are in a transition phase right now between fall and summer pattern. Who really knows though.....I think all that crazy weather jacked everything up!!!

i am kinda having the same problem you are. lots of deer but all my pics are all in between 1 and 5 am. I am thinking that once the weather cools off they will start coming around more in the light.

give it time...they are still transitioning from summer to fall. Once those acorns start falling and they are feeling the pressure from the rut things will break loose.
