Where do you find out this info?

How do you find out the status of the Hooch? This reports says the bacteria levels (E-Coli) are 42 times higher than the highest safe level. That caught my attention. Where can you go to find out if / when those levels have dropped to something I'd feel safe floating in?

Here's the link to news item

Bacteria....

That site will usually give you a bacteria sampling of Medlock on the upper end of the Hooch below Buford Dam and then another below Morgan Falls @ Paces Ferry I believe. The sampling site below Morgan Falls is down right now. It will still tell you the ecoli count, but not if there is an advisory and it will not tell you the turbidity. The upper should be fine by now. I would give the lower area a bit to clear out. You had sewage pumping out pretty badly at Roswell road and around Atlanta road for a few days with the flood.

That I'm not sure. Generally when the sampling site is up and running correctly, it will be highlighted in Green (like the Medlock Bridge one is currently) if it is at an acceptable level. If it is too high, it is highlighted in red and will say that there is a bacteria alert. A good way to judge it is if the water does not have a visibility of at least 2 feet or better, turbidity is pretty high and the bacteria count usually coincides.

Thanks for the input jsullivan3.

One would think that when a news report like this is published, they would also let you know how to find out when the levels are safe again.
