Does anyone have a problem removing the primer after firing? Shot a doe this past week and had to use a safety pin McGuyver style to get out. Shooting a CVA Wolf 50 cal.

Primers will stick from time to time on any of the muzzleloaders using any type of cap. Use what ever works.:

make sure you clean the primer pocket REAL good after shooting some- it doesn't take much primer fouling to make removal a REAL pain

that why i prefer caps over primers, easer to remove without a tool and easer to keep CLEAN

Try soaking plug in a plug cleaner, that what I do to every muzzle loader I strip down and clean, looks like new when I'm done. I also apply Anti-seize lubricanto the threads.
