My family owns some property in Towns County and apparently the bears are out in full force. I killed one in British Columbia a few years ago but i doubt its the same ball-game as hunting bears here in Ga. I live about 6 hours away so ill only be able to make one 4-day trip so it has to count.

I basically need a crash course on bear hunting in Ga. and more specifically towns county. best time/week to go, best places to start(what food sources, what to look for in a bedding area, ect)

Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Look for white oaks dropping. Best time of day is the afternoon to evening but mornings are also good. Look for old rotting logs torn apart, bears will tear them up looking for grubs and if they are freshly torn apart its a good chance they are still close by. Bear tracks and slides are good sign too. Don't forget to keep checking up in the trees as they will often snooze and eat in the tree tops. Good luck.
