Braves back with Benedict, Hubbard, Horner, Chief Nockahoma, etc., etc. First NASCAR was '91 or '92, I think, Davey Allison won @ Talledega. Also watched the Rock & Roll Express and the Boogie Woogie Man in Carnesville, GA quite a while ago!!! Best game I saw though was college, GA vs. AU '96 I think 4 OT's! (we won)

Atlanta braves game, early 80s. B. Benedict went deep, braves still lost. I think I was seven. First college game was a UGA, Auburn game, some dude named Walker played. Heard he became a halfway decent back. My dad never really liked sports and worked out of town alot, thank goodness my mom liked sports a little. Somewhere there is a picture of me around 6 years old with an Auburn shirt on, my mom is an Aubby fan. Someone should have reported her to DFCS, that is definately putting a child in an unsuitable/unhealthy environment. RTR!

1966 Atlanta Fulton County Stadium to watch the Braves. Sorry I don't remember who they played. Can't believe I've forgotten that but I was only 6 years old. We went to at least one Braves game a year after that, usually a couple.

I saw the Braves play a few times in '66 & '67 but barely remember them.
By far the most memorable was Falcons vs. Lions in December '68.
I have never been so cold in my life. I have no idea what the temperature was but I shiver at the thought to this day.
We had awesome seats no more than 10 rows from the field. The Lions had a linebacker get his face mask pushed into his nose and gashed it. They walked him to the bench right in front of me and a doctor straddled him, stitched him up and within 10 minutes the dude was back on the field!
That made one heck of an impression on a 10 year old!

Just remembered another one: my Dad took me to the old stadium in San Francisco (think it was Keizar) and saw Y.A. Tittle with the 49er's throwing the alley-oop passes in the end zone. Late 50's again.

Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium starting in 74 and throughout the 70's when they were the Big Red Machine. I was in high school. My best friend and I would take the bus downtown (route 78 down Vine Street) and buy the cheapest seats available. We would wait for the players after the games. It was great! Always a Joe Morgan fan. He would stop and talk to people and be generally a nice guy. We'd probably get killed if we tried to do that nowadays!

Rode up from central FL with a friend and his dad to see the Braves play in about '81 or '82. I can't remember who they played, but they won. I do remember the jumbo screen with Claudell Washington's face on a dollar bill with the phrase, "In Claudell We Trust." I must have been 12 or 13.

Braves int he 80's as well. Like the other post, I was in tball and Dale Murphy was my hero back then, I used to try and imitate his batting stance, where he shook the barrell of the bat at the ground three or four times before pulling it up. (just had a flashback of playing ball at Cochran Field in Stockbridge)

We walk in and there are just boxes and boxes of REAL autographed Hank Aaron 31 oz bats!! Aw, the good ole days!! You just grab one and keep walking! Saw Torre playing 3rd for the braves.

Braves game in 1988. Darryl Strawberry hit a home run to tie the game in the top of the ninth. The Murph smoked one over the centerfield wall in the bottom and it was a great day to be a braves fan. They don't make 'em like Dale Murphy anymore.

Atlanta Crackers at Ponce DeLeon Parrk, I'm guessing around 1962 or so.
First major league was Atlanta Falcons. We had season tickets for about the first 8-10 years they were in existance. Remember seeing some really bad Falcons teams but also saw some great football players.
