I will donate one of waddlewhacker's pot calls (any surface you choose{i reccomend aluminum or slate}) to the first member who posts a picture of a kid they took hunting and helped them kill a bird. I would prefer that it be a first bird but not a requirement. Like the challenge you will need a picture of you, the kid, and the turkey. You will also need a picture of a phone or paper with the date (must be killed during georgia's season). Any member on the site may participate and any child 15yrs of age or younger will qualify. Hopefully i will be sending out a call on march 22.

Once i find out a little more info from a few i have promised to guide this year and it gets closer to the season i will also offer a hunt for any youth between the ages of 11-15 that have never killed a turkey. I put age requirements as a hunt would entail at least 3 miles of walking, up and down hills and i think it may be tough for a younger child to keep up. The youth would not even need a gun. Depending on there size i have a 12ga and a youth model 20ga that they would be welcome to shoot. The parent/guardian would be more than welcome to tag along.

Good luck this year!:flag:

thanks for the kind words. I think its important for people to get kids in the woods. My dad did very little hunting and if it wasnt for a guy taking me turkey hunting when I was 13 and forming my addiction I probably wouldnt be on here offering a hunt.

Taking my son for his first turkey hunt. He has already shot the target and we have a good pattern for the 20 GA. He is pretty excited.

Good deal. My 5 year told me this morning that he wanted me and him to go turkey hunting next saturday. Just us, no one else. My heart melted. He loves to go deer hunting with me. We may not see/hear a thing, but he will be there if that is still what he wants to do. It will be an even longer 10 days now.
