An older fellow from around here use to make them when I was a kid and I always remembered it and since I work around a machine shop I decided to learn how to make a blade the easy way so to speak. The first one w/finger hook took me about 3 months of here and there tinkering with it. The other I did in about 2 weeks.

I rough cut it on a band saw and brought it to shape on a bench grinder. Then started sanding with 60 grit paper work up to 1600 grit to polish the metal.
