I have an old single shot 20 gauge....what type of load do you recommend for turkey?

If you use 2 3/4" shells and have a 28" or longer full choke barrel on it, try some Remington #6 (1oz) magnums. They should do well out to about 30 yds or so.

I need to get a 20 guage for my son so he can shoot his first turkey. Is a 410 powerful enough?

I hear of some killing birds with the 410, just takes a couple pellets, but you got to get them close.
