Nope, not too late. It takes 2-3 weeks for them to get tall enough for the deer to start on em, once they do, they will hit em heavy and probably won't last more than 3-4 weeks before they eat em all. We always plant peas in with our summer and fall plots. Once in a while we'll have a few peas last until a frost kills em in November or last October.

Got wheat and rye planted last week that's 5 inches tall now. Overseeded two of the plots yesterday with arrowleaf and dwarf essex rape. Got 3 more plots going in before Thursday and Ivan's rains. Both wheat/rye plots are slap covered with deer tracks of all sizes!!
