Gentlemen,
I'm planning on getting over to the coast at least a few times this summer/fall and doing some beach fishing. I was primarily thinking the SSI/JI area. I have been to these areas a few times in the past and had done some light pier fishing at both locations but haven't scratched too many fish.
I have done some surf fishing in NC so I'm not completely ignorant to tides and troughs between the breakers. What does make me wonder is 1)water color along the GA coast and 2)the height of the tides.
I would like to target reds mostly because I hadn't caught one before. I'd be completely content to land a 14 incher just to say that I caught one. I also like to throw Gotchas and Hopkins spoons. These were very productive in the clearer beaches up north. Will they still produce in the muddier water? I greatly appreciate any help anyone is willing to offer.

I appreciate it, Captain unfortunately I couldn't afford your fuel. Looking for a CHEAP trip over and back. Don't suppose you have any info that you would like to share for free...:bounce:
I suppose that would be Oct/Nov for bulls?

No, no..... not on the boat. I mean from the beach at Jekyll. We're talking about surf fishing, brotha..... South end of Jekyll is a GREAT area to try Bull Reds on the west face of the beach, far south tip. Cut bait and medium tackle.

That is greatly appreciated info! Thank you very much. This weekend has turned to trash, but hopefully I'll give it a shot sometime in the very near future...
If I can ever help you out with cold water fish, let me know.
Thanks again,
SB
