Offshore w/ Capt. Richie

Thurs. 6/3, we fished w/ RL and went to the navy tower and had a blast. We took my 11 yr. old grandson Lauden on his first ever offshore trip. Between the AJ's, King mackeral, and the rare and endangered red snappers, and monster cobia that kept us wrapped up in the tower legs, the trip was nothing but outstanding. I will post photos tomorrow. Folks this was a trip and a half for my Grandson and I thank RL for all his hard work in making this happen. Will post more tomorrow.

Yeah, that was a FUN day with fairly nice seas... 2-3 foot roll on the chin going out, surfing @ 43-44 MPH on the way in.... Bob is more fun to fish with than I would have guessed. He has a warm welcome anytime... He is an EXCELLENT fisherman as is his grandson. Everyone did great...!

Bite was on at the "nail" 3 miles north of the tower. Red Snapper, AJ's, Cobia too big to turn around, King Mackerel, Cudas.... Good day! That young-un had a blast, and so did I!

What ashame we have to release such nice Red Snapper.... VERY counter productive. Nearly every Red Snapper we have released in the past 2 weeks (well into upper double digits) were eaten by cudas within seconds of release....

Battery died on the camera an hour after we got there or I would have more VID.
