Quail Birds that is!!! went to WMA this afternoon, hunted about 2 hr. Found 1 covey and two singles, did not get a shot, but had a blast GSP did good! What more can You ask for?? Anyone else chasing wild birds on public Land?? how did You do???

Rut vs Quail Huntin

Rut is goin on here in Sumter Co. My seat spring shot me out at 8:10 a.m Sat morning. Had just experienced Quail calling at daybreak and started thinking about my 2 pointers in the pen. I could hear them calling me about 300 yards away at the house. Anyway.... I was busy training them at 9:30. Whoa,etc..Only problem I have is Family Deer Hunters huntin a Big One! As soon as they left me and the dogs took a exercise walk. Found out they are alot better shape than me. I gotta get goin. Like everything, It seems I'm always getting ready about 2 weeks late. Hope to have a good season. Wish you the best.
