At the end of pavement on Dawson Forest Rd. was installed to help prevent some of the damage and vandalism that has been occuring along that road. Trees and mileage markers have been destroyed by gunfire, the roadbed is in a constant state of being torn up, trash has been habitually dumped (including hazardous wastes) and the grafitti at the dead end has become totally unmanageable not to mention those that have been trying to drive onto the horse/bicycle trails with 4WD vehicles. The gate will be opened for hunting seasons although exactly which hunting seasons has not yet been decided. If anybody sees vandalism in progress, please call 911 and request that a DNR Ranger be contacted or a Deputy be dispatched to handle the situation, this may preclude other roads from being gated or closed.
